Redditors Are Losing Their Minds
So I was scrolling through Reddit this morning and stumbled on a thread that was an absolute dumpster fire. The title was a bombshell: 'trump just quietly gave himself his kids his businesses and the entire trump organization permanent immunity from tax prosecution.'
As you can guess, the comments section blew up immediately. A bunch of users jumped on the word 'quietly,' with one saying, 'what you mean with quietly, it was on the news worldwide bro.' Fair point.
But the overall vibe was just pure rage and helplessness. One user went off, saying, 'It's kind of interesting to see how completely hollow the structure of the US government is.' Another asked a question a lot of people are probably thinking: 'How can anyone pay taxes after this shitshow?' The general feeling was a mix of disbelief and disgust, with folks hoping the next president can just undo whatever happened.
The Crypto Connection
Amid all the political back-and-forth, one comment from user 'dino-delicious' cut right through the noise for me. They said, 'I just wish that the democrats such as Elizabeth Warren were not in the hands of the big banks and trying to destroy crypto... what we get is a choice between one party trying to destroy the crypto industry and this clown show.'
And that, right there, is the whole ballgame.
My Take: This Is Why We Bitcoin
Look, I'm not here to talk party politics. But this entire Reddit thread is a perfect example of why crypto exists in the first place.
Read those comments. They're filled with people who feel powerless, who believe the system is rigged for the rich and powerful, and who have lost all trust in their leaders and institutions. Whether the original post is 100% accurate or just rage-bait doesn't even matter. The *feeling* is real.
This is the problem Bitcoin was built to solve. It's a system that doesn't ask for your trust—it earns it through code and math. There are no backroom deals, no executive orders, and no 'permanent immunity' on the blockchain. The rules are the rules, and they apply to everyone equally.
When you see people freaking out because one person can allegedly flip a switch and change the rules for 350 million people, it’s not FUD. It's the biggest signal imaginable that we need a decentralized alternative. It's a reminder that relying on politicians to protect your wealth and freedom is a risky bet. The real security comes from taking control of your own keys and opting into a system that can't be manipulated by a 'clown show,' regardless of which party is running it.
The game is rigged. Crypto is how we start playing by a new set of rules.
